The face as it is, neither rhyme nor rythm ----------------- A face, its contours different From others in the world by millimeters A measurement here, and deviation there A face, highlighted by sunlight A face in high definition focus A face with shades almost imperceptibly different A hue less here, a shade more there A face, just slightly more or less Against a background fazed, receded, blurred uniform A face that could come into a life Take away the breath of one Draw the life away from another A face, the fortune of itself A face, the lingering death of some A face that makes fantasies soar Just a few millimeters away from one That faces life in fear, through blinding tears Its not what's inside, its not the thoughts Its not the deeds, its not intent Its the micromeasurements, the microshades The face, always, with the right content Those in denial impose their will Spend a lifetime showing what should be above By life-accounts and by all things artificially deemed But nature has, in it's simple court But one rule, that simply frames the face Nothing supercedes, we are nature-made We choose to find ways to deviate From its rule, but all comes back to the face The face, a microquirk different The face, a bit more taut here and there Every pore of this face matters in all ways Its nature's world, and we are but slaves Its hard to accept, some never do But as the morning light returns after night Its the law, its the tenet, the base of humanity A face, just a few millimeters away Lies between your life and death Lies between failure and success Controls how your blood will course through your veins Lies between an instant now, and an instant then Will channel your feelings, turn the course of your life A face, passing through the crowd Has the power to deluge nations, cause war Has the power to dissuade hearts from beating Has the power to command sickness and grief Has the power to unleash unbearable pain A face highlighted in the sun A face captured at the right millisecond A face that will haunt generations then A face that will sever relations of blood A face that will taunt the essence of society A face that will raze someone's dignity A face that will trample vows and trusts A face with the right microexpression Unleashed at the right microsecond of time A face that will take away someone's life And a slight deviation of a face away Is that face that will watch its essence drawn away A face that will look in the mirror and say Is this me today, I wasn't this yesterday A face that will sob, and crumble inside And never be the same again in life Fade away because it was a shade away A measurement away from the one that won Just millimeters away, like the moon from the sun ----------------- 25 Mar. 2018 10:52 AM
